Art and Collective Creativity

soul visible journal pictureJanuary 2009 rolled around. It was a whole new year for me. A whole new life. I get to claim ME, not worrying about what anyone else thinks and hopefully not stopping myself anymore.

I feel like journaling, painting, pulling out all those supplies I have collected all these years. But wait… maybe I should get one more lesson. Maybe someone could teach me to make this more professional. I’ll ask.

Luckily, a woman I thought could help me didn’t have any time. Disappointed at first I decided to just jump in and start to paint. I let the brush, marker and sparkles go. Freedom.

I ripped collage paper and painted what I pleased.

Weeks later I brought my collage material and markers to a woman’s gathering that I have been part of for years – Women Moving the Edge. I told the story of thinking I couldn’t do this without more lessons but jumping in nonetheless.

Throughout our four days together, the papers and colors were flying. People were creating drawings to reflect, from their inner senses, what we were co-creating in the collective field as we explored our roles in these evolutionary times. Drawing helped us go deeper and to connect on a non-linear level to what was surfacing in the room. Musings on our connection to Earth, Source and the feminine wisdom.

Here is a Scenes from Women Moving the Edge 5 – Brussels, a feast for the eyes, taken by our dear Helen, capturing the beauty of several moments of our time together, reflecting on our inner and outer journeys.
