Launching the Inner Climate Change conversation in Boston! Here we go!

Tomorrow I leave for Copenhagen to be part of the People’s Summit that is taking place at the same time as the UN Climate Change Summit! My colleagues and friends and I will be hosting conversations to inquire into the role our inner climate has on the outer reality of climate change.

P1010036I was thrilled to start the conversation today in my Boston home. I invited many friends from various networks to join me for a holiday party and inner climate change conversation. We had loads of good food, people who hadn’t seen each other in awhile got to reconnect and many people met new friends. I love seeing those connections happen.

I had prepared a question and also a basket for people to give me their thoughts to take to Copenhagen. Here is the question I posed to my guests:
ICV question
What have I and we forgotten about being human to ourselves, each other and this planet? How might our becoming aware of this positively affect our local and global environment?

There is no easy answer to the question. Rather it is meant to deepen our curiosity and in our discussions, to help us delve deeply into things we may not have considered before.

I will be in Copenhagen for two weeks – amidst many interesting ‘happenings’ and deep inquiries. I plan to keep blogging. If you would like to keep up to date on what is happening during this time, please check the Current Events section of this blog for updates or even better – sign up for the blog so you can get updates from the action in Copenhagen as I write them!

Join the conversation: Sit with the question above and let me know what it brings up in you.

  1. Be conscious about what you are eating and how you are eating. Are you eating to have energy to serve the world or your addctions? The better the quality and life force of the food you eat, the better is your ability to listen within!

So I was looking at the climate that begins at my skin and goes in.
Dry skin today, warm heart, clear mind with a few clouds. Excited throat wanting to move vowels and consonants down a stream of wind. Make meaningful sounds. Share connection of lips and looks and listening. Hands wanting to hold other hands, feel softness and grace. The feeling of power standing side by side with other strong presences.

    Presents. Presence.

Hi Lisa, So happy to know that you are in Copenhagen and bringing balance to what is happening there. In thinking about the question you pose, I am reminded that there are many forms of intelligence/wisdom and greater numbers of people are beginning to respect some of those forms–for example, emotional intelligence and indigenous wisdom. I am feeling/creating hope that more of humanity is beginning to respect the intelligence of Mother Earth and indigenous wisdom and that we will listen to what she/they are saying to us and we will learn how to care for her…we will direct our resoures to sustainable ways of creating our future.

Global Warming and Climate Change is the biggest environmental issue that we face these days. the long term effects of these environmental changes to a nations economy is quite damaging. there would be a shortage in food supply as well as on water supply too ….
