Kosmos and the Global Commons

I had lunch with Nancy Roof, the Founder of Kosmos Journal, the leading international Journal for planetary citizens committed to the birth and emergence of a new planetary culture and civilization.
I have recommended Kosmos before and I always will. Each page is filled with information that is on the leading edge of what is emerging in Conscious Leadership around the world. In fact, my own article entitled “Conscious Leadership” was published online by Kosmos last year.
Yesterday, Nancy and I ate a scrumptious lunch in a little restaurant in her home town of Lenox, Massachusetts. The food was delightfully prepared from local, autumn-fresh ingredients that exuded flavor and color. Yum.
High on the list of topics was the Coalition for the Global Commons that Nancy is, rightly so, passionate about. She described for me the horrific ways that businesses are buying up rites to water around the world and how people in villages around the world are suffering. She spoke of the seeds that are being controlled by companies and the laws that are in place – some I hear being proposed here in the United States – that prevent people from using seeds that are generated from their own plants. This kind of thing is happening beneath our eyes and we don’t see it. Are our veils too thick? How can we allow these kinds of things to occur as profits come ahead of common decency.
We know so little of what is actually going on in our world! I am learning here. What I understand is that the Coalition for the Global Commons is helping to educate people about the truth, working with governmental agencies and the United Nations and supporting neighborhoods to self-organize to prevent things like water rights and seeds and even the use of the internet to be controlled in a way that divides us and prevents people in the lower economic brackets a decent way of life. Please read more and see videos about this organization that is ‘Empowering Global Citizens’ here and keep abreast of what Kosmos is up to. It will be well worth your time.
Join the conversation: What are you seeing and speaking up for now? How can even a single person make a difference? Of course, you can.
